Sanyo has recently introduced the new collection of numerical minicamcorders Xacti, in which appears VPC-WH1 AND VPC-CA9. Both main features of these apparatus are their reduced dimensions and their aptitude to be used under the water.
The first, Xacti WH1, adopts classical horizontal format and allows to film in HD 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) up to a depth of 3 m under the water. Other one, CA9, comes as for him in a vertical format and also films in HD 720p but by limiting himself to a maximum depth of 1,5 m only.
Both have a colour screen TFT of 2,5 thumbs (6,4 cm) of a resolution of 150000 pixels, record videos in format H.264 264, discern up to twelve faces at the same time and include functions of reduction of the digital noise and system of stabilisation (numerical). Videos and photos are recorded on cards memo SD or SDHC (until 32 Go).
Their difference is more numerous. Besides their aspect, these two camcorders distance themselves to one of other one by their objective provided with a sensor CMOS of 9 Mpix for CA9 against only 1,1 Mpix for WH1 (photos will have a resolution of 2 Mpix by interpolation) and by their optic and numerical zoom lenses 5x / 12x for CA9 against 30x / 50x for WH1.
As for the connectique, if both models have a harbour USB 2.0 and a composite video exit, alone WH1 has an exit HDMI. Finally, the battery lithium-ion has a capacity of 1900 mAh on WH1 against 720 mAh on CA9. It allows in this last to record min during 70, while WH1 is supposed to work more than 3 h (200 min).
Available from mid-March 2009, the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA9 will be offered in black, in red and in green at the price of 449 euro, while Xacti VPC-WH1 will be offered in white, in blue and in yellow at the price of 499 euro.
Personally, I recommend you a flashy colour in case you make him fall in the bottom of the sea or of the swimming pool, to find him quicklier!
